Rent a self-drive van for moving house, furniture, student belongings, storage runs and bulky household loads. Choose from medium vans, large LWB vans and Luton options, with hire from a minimum of 7 days and collection from HX3 7TG.
Rent a Van for Moving House, Furniture & Bulky Loads
Moving van hire gives you the space to move boxes, furniture and household belongings at your own pace without paying for a vehicle you do not need permanently.
Queensbury Van Hire provides self-drive vans for house moves, flat moves, student moves, furniture collections, storage-unit runs, home clear-outs and other moving jobs where a car simply does not provide enough usable load space.
Tell us roughly what you need to move, the largest items involved and how many journeys you want to make. We can help you decide whether a medium van, large LWB van or Luton-style vehicle is the most practical choice.
If you're unsure how much van space you need, choosing around the largest and most awkward items is often more useful than simply counting boxes.
Our minimum self-drive hire period is 7 days, giving you time to move without trying to fit everything into a few rushed hours. This can be particularly useful when moving between properties, collecting furniture over several days or making multiple storage runs.
Vehicles are collected and returned at Spaniard Hall Farm, Brighouse & Denholme Gate Road, Halifax, HX3 7TG. We do not deliver hire vehicles.
Standard moving van hire is self-drive. If you need help with the move rather than just the vehicle, ask us about our separate Van & Man removals option and we'll explain what support is available.
We will also confirm the relevant driving licence, identification, mileage, payment and insurance requirements before your booking is completed.
Choose the Right Moving Van for Your Move
The best moving van depends on the amount being moved, the size of the largest furniture and whether fewer larger trips are more important than having a smaller vehicle that's easier to manoeuvre.
Compare the available moving vans below. For larger house moves, furniture and bulky loads, an LWB panel van or Luton can often be more practical than trying to make repeated journeys in a smaller vehicle.
Vehicle availability, specification, mileage and final weekly price are confirmed when you enquire. Vehicles are collected from HX3 7TG; we do not deliver hire vehicles.
What Size Van Do I Need for Moving?
Match the van to the amount you're moving and the largest items involved. If you're unsure, call us with a rough load list.
LWB Van or Luton for Moving House?
Both can work well for moving, but the way they carry and load items is different.
A large LWB van gives you generous enclosed cargo space in a conventional panel-van body. It can be easier to manoeuvre than a box-bodied vehicle and is useful for furniture, boxes and long household items.
An LWB can be a good option where you want plenty of space but do not need the square load area or tail lift offered by some specialist vehicles.
When a Luton Can Make Moving Easier
A Luton provides a squarer, high-volume load area that can make it easier to organise furniture, appliances, boxes and other bulky belongings.
Tail-lift models can also assist with suitable heavy or awkward items where lifting everything directly into the rear of a panel van would be more difficult.
See our Luton and specialist van hire options if load shape, cubic capacity or tail-lift access is particularly important.
How Moving Van Hire Works
Make a rough list of your largest furniture, appliances, boxes and bulky items. Tell us what needs to fit and we'll help you choose a practical van size for the move.
Book for a minimum of 7 days and confirm your required start date. We'll explain vehicle availability, collection arrangements, pricing and the documentation required before you arrive.
Collect the van from HX3 7TG, complete your move and return it at the agreed time. If the move takes longer than expected, contact us as early as possible to discuss an extension subject to availability.

Need the Van After the Move?
